DS attended Boys State and had a fairly good experience. He became a better informed citizen as a result. We’re going to watch it.

I am relieved to say that DS has shaken off the "Plebe year blues" (can I coin this phrase?) and is staying the course. He's pretty busy, but I hear his voice every now and then and it sounds like DS has gotten his bearings. No plan B. USNA all the way 💙💛⚓

That's a good question. DS applied to USNA and USAFA, received a nomination to both, but was appointed to the 1st and received a polite denial from the 2nd.

I'm so glad you stuck it out. The bigger picture talks worked and I'm alternating with encouragement or if he doesn't say anything I just act normally. Thank you for sharing your experience.

CAPT MJ was spot on with that advice. The "plans" DS spouted out were laughable so I knew he was running from, not to something. The 1st year plan sounds reasonable. Thank you for weighing in on this.

This forum is immensely helpful. I was hesitant to post, but I knew that there is a wealth of knowledge and experience to help me navigate this situation. The mom hugs are greatly appreciated and I hope to see your DS among the class of 2024:)
