Enlisting in the Army and serving some time has been one of my BACKUP plans. I also think it would be a great experience. You get to get more comfortable and close with the person that would recommend you to a service academy before you turn 23.

Freshman taking the PSAT's? lol odd. You should definitely begin to study for the SAT's from soph-junior year. That'll definitely prepare you for the official NMSQT (PSAT) for junior year.
i feel as though those that go to the naval academy are very focused on the technology while west point focuses more on the training and leadership development. although both schools enforce leadership, I feel like west point emphasizes it more heavily.
