    NROTC TWE

Don't get discouraged! Apply as a college programmer if you are committed to serving in the Navy! My daughter did the same thing last year and her unit sent her to NSI. She was selected at NSI to carry the flag at graduation for her unit by their gunnery seargent and had a full scholarship by...

Questions about broken bones in the past

My DD had a broken collar bone; broken foot; broken elbow and broken nose. The only records DODMERB requested were related to a knee injury:) She was cleared after all records related to her knee were provided!

    Rejection NROTC

Don't get discouraged or give up if your goal is to serve after graduating from college. Our daughter didn't get a scholarship last year. She was still able to go to NSI, did very well there and had an NROTC scholarship by January this year. Sometimes things you appreciate things more when you...

    NSI graduation visitors

The stands were packed when we went to graduation last year and it was amazing to see them march into the building and take the oath (think goosebumps). My DD was selected to carry the flag for her unit after the young woman originally selected ended up receiving an award. We were very happy we...

Looking for more info about the NROTC OTSSN scholarship

My DD is a 4C, Tier 1 and started as a College Programmer. She was also notified that she could be nominated by her battalion’s Captain to receive a scholarship. We figured out she got the scholarship when the university mailed us a refund for her spring tuition payment! It was a lovely surprise 😊

    MS3 Going on Antidepressants

This is just from my personal experience with a child who has struggled with anxiety. She initially tried therapy and when that didn’t help, she did medication and therapy. We were told the “gold standard,” for treatment when therapy alone isn’t sufficient is to do both and that it is important...

NSI - My kid will no longer be Top Dog

Maybe, maybe not, my DD was at session 2 and said many kids in her compartment could not complete runs during PT and IT or do many (if any) push-ups. She was pretty shocked at how many kids there were not in shape and unable to follow pretty simple orders during trainings.

    2023 NSI Cycle 2

Today I found myself looking through posts from Great Lakes from the first session to see how many days it took for the first photos to appear. It seems like my DD has been gone a long time…reality it’s only been 5 days:)

    4-Year NROTC Scholarship Acceptance Thread

DD was not awarded a scholarship. On the bright, the rejection from NROTC is a little gentler than the "turned down" from USNA ;) On the bright side, she has already been in contact with the NROTC unit at her 1st choice college and will plow ahead applying as a CP. I am sure she will feel a...

LETTERS BEING SENT OUT THIS WEEK FOR NON SELECTS (NROTC)

I am glad you posted! My daughter's unit's webpage said CPs do not attend NSI. However, she emailed them regarding housing in an ROTC living community and about applying to be a CP, and in the response was told that she may be able to attend NSI. So glad I check the forum! Also, still hoping...

LETTERS BEING SENT OUT THIS WEEK FOR NON SELECTS (NROTC)

I didn’t know CPS could go to NSI? I thought it was only for kids who have scholarships.

    4-Year NROTC Scholarship Acceptance Thread

My DD as well:) We are all in good company as we wait! My DD is giving it until this this Friday before she applies to be a college programmer at the school we put a deposit on already. Good luck to everyone!

USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

Turn down for DD came this a.m. I cannot help but believe there are bright futures for all these amazing kids! Looking forward to the future!

USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

Right! My DD said someone in her Summer Seminar squad shared in a group text that their TWE came today around noon Eastern time. Every time I get a text alert I think it is from my DD with news😂 The stress involved in waiting increases daily and I have a kid who does NOT like to discuss...
