If you had to pick between one or the other, I would pick Boys' State IF you already know you want to attend USAFA.

You are evaluated based on Tech or Non Tech for EAs. I do not believe that your specific major, excluding specific technical programs for specific AFSCs, will change your OM. I am not 100% sure on this, but from what I have heard about this process I do not believe it will impact PSP boards...

I would not make the decision on whether you received prep/not prep. For me, I would turn down USMA direct and accept a USAFA Prep appointment. The one year makes little difference compared to the 5-and-dive or 20 year service commitment and 4 years of embodiment into the culture of the branch...

AFROTC is not guaranteed. Even if you have a J-100 scholarship, you may not get an EA and have to go 5-years anyway as an AS500. I would take the prep school offer, if you complete the prep school and graduate, you will commission, bar medical/honor/academic issues. USCD is a huge state school...
