My DD is a resident of FL but just purchased a car in CO and would like to register it in FL. The DMV requires military orders for him to do this. Do cadets have DD-214s or some other type of military order to prove their military service?

Yes, no call from the MOC and the portal has not been updated yet. I'm not even sure whether they used his Congressional nomination or Presidential.

We are thrilled, and a little shocked, that DS received his appointment today. We weren't expecting to hear anything until late March, as he is not a recruited athlete or a principal nominee! Check your mailboxes!!! :)

One of our Senators selected 10 nominees for USAFA, and DS was one of 10 "alternate nominees" in the case that a nomination becomes available through cancellation or disqualification. Does this ever come into play? Another unknown is where he falls on the alternate list. Curious and hopeful!

You have to send separate requests for the presidential nomination to each of the academies to which you are applying. You can find a standard form/letter on each academy website/application handbook to do so.

Thanks for the feedback. DS also has a LOA from KP and received a similar call from Senator Rubio's office asking about his interest in KP so hopefully he'll be receiving a letter soon. Did your DS also get a nomination to USNA from Senator Rubio?
