    Waitlist email

Group A Congrats to you for getting into group A! Our AO said in his experience, 20-25% of the waitlisted group gets in. If you combine the total of both groups, that's about 30-40 kids, so it looks like you have an excellent chance!

    Waitlist email

DS requested his waitlist status this morning.....he's in group 2 which contains 120+ applicants. So, even though we are optimistic people, we're not banking on getting past the 150 people on the combined lists. Yeah, it could happen, but at some point you have to start moving forward. He's...

WooHoo! Yeah!!! Many happy thoughts coming your way! We are also recently "qualified" for grass allergies (never thought the word qualified would look so good), and are anxiously awaiting tomorrow's waitlist news. Good luck to you - we're sending tons of positive thoughts for everyone here.

    Admission status change date

patience Hi twin mom - I'm also mom to triplets (plus another) who want to follow in big brother's footsteps, so this lesson in patience has been valuable, since I'm sure we will be going through it again!

    Admission status change date

UPDATE! Wow, just yesterday I was complaining about the mysterious dodmerb process and now this morning I see that DS is finally QUALIFIED! Ahhh, patience is a virtue, but hard to keep during these times. Thanks, doc, for your calm, accurate response to my question. Now we just have to clear...

    Admission status change date

Congrats! That's awesome news that your waiver was approved! At least your status on dodmoerb referenced your waiver. "status change date xx-xx-xx" doesn't give me any clue what it means.

    Admission status change date

As we wait to find out about our alternate status on 4/30, I've watched DS's Admission Status Change Date actually change twice. What does this mean? Remedial request was sent to him in late March (for allergy records); we responded early April. First change date was 4/14, now it shows...

    Allergies

We're in the same situation, except my son is older. He suffered terribly with allergies to local plants/trees when we lived in one state; he took shots, meds, etc. After we moved to another state, he was fine. He's currently an alternate for the CGA class of 2012. DODMERB put him on...

    Alternates in groups of 30?

thanks for the update! That 2nd email makes it pretty clear that all we can do now is wait....although we're going to go ahead and start working on the passport and some other stuff. Thanks again, I really appreciate the info.

    Alternates in groups of 30?

you're probably right My DS called me in a rush between classes (he's a sophomore at CalPoly), and I'm guessing I misunderstood his summation of the email. I won't see a copy of it until later when he forwards it to me. Perhaps we can hope that if we got the email, then we're in the first...

    Alternates in groups of 30?

New poster here.....I signed in on the Introduction board this morning with a few details of our situation. Let me say right now that you all are an amazing group of people, and this is a tremendous resource. Son just received email from USCGA saying that on April 30, he can email and find...

    Waiting in USCGA "Alternate" land

Hi all My first post, hope I do this correctly. DS was notified that he was an alternate for the USCGA class of '12. He is currently a sophomore at a good engineering school, but is finding class size and lack of teacher involvement & mentorship hindering his education. He's realizing that...
