    Plan C

Thanks for sharing! Our oldest went infantry in 2007, turned 21 in Iraq. 2016 one went Navy and another went Air Force. We are proud.

He considered Navy corpsman too. My DH is former Navy nuke who became a LE SWAT, sniper, helipcopter FTO, so our DS is drawn to the front line tactical but has a big heart to serve and save, thus, the medical side. Thanks for your support!

Thanks for the encouragement! I have really enjoyed the forums. I love getting a glimpse of the defenders of our nation and their families.

ROTC at A&M. I missed a deadline for paperwork for fall admission. As a home educator I am also school administrator so it was solely my error. He has graciously moved on.

    Plan C

After receiving the TWE in April, our DS has spent endless hours in thought and prayer. On Thursday he will swear-in with the Army and plans to become a combat medic. I have already heard the criticism or the "oh" response so I wanted to post where his service will be valued. We are so proud of...

    Principal Nominee with TWE

Right now he's prepping for physics and calculus AP exams. In July he will apply for second semester admission to state universities. Our CC has ROTC available but in coordination with a university 45 miles away, a little problematic.

    Principal Nominee with TWE

My DS is one of the 3.7 GPA with 1420 SAT in a small town. He drives 20 miles to the community college in another small town, and is completing 27 dual college credits with 4.0 college GPA. He earned a nomination but wasn't selected. We're a middle income but supersize family so his plan B...

    The Waiting Club

DS received TWE on Thursday too. Can't deny it's disappointing, but he will excel wherever he goes. Best wishes to those who were appointed. May you serve our nation well.

USAFA Class of 2023 Appointment Thread

I agree with you! Through the process I realize that my DS is not the best and the brightest, but he is determined to complete the task he has begun with integrity and to encourage others along the way. If admitted, he will serve with humility, knowing he doesn't "deserve " to be there but is...

    Word to the Wise

My DS had to be taped in October. He was 195 pounds at 6'. Health care provider specifically described him as obviously fit, muscular not fat. He also has a heavy bone structure--great for football. He is still in the running.

    Hello

Thank you! We are still stressfully waiting. My husband was the second in his family to serve,(first died a month after D-Day). He comes from centuries of religious pacifists. I grew up in an extremely liberal area so I have grown into my pride in our military.

    Hello

I have spent way too much time lurking this month so thought I should sign up. 3 of my sons have gone enlisted--different branches. In June ADAF brother recommended our DS apply for USAFA so he's late to join the process. DS is home schooled with 8 dual credit college classes, 3.7 GPA, 4.0...
