Nice ACT ! alwayshungry8
1. I truly believe everyone has a chance - the WCS is really important. Academics make up 50% of the WCS, but I see plenty of people with high GPA's not get in, and others with lower numbers getting in.
2. My son's score was 4.93 on the portal (that was his weighted...
150 is the minimum out of the national pool right? There’s usually a few more if you add up all the normal slates and deduct from total applicant admission numbers?
Sure it could be they’re going district to district or they are still going through all the principal noms and you’ll hear very soon.
I don’t see how they can get to the national pool without dealing with the 435 principal noms first.
If you look back through the posts of a lot of the people who have heard in the last couple of days several seem to be principal noms. (Not that I'm obsessively combing through everyone's posts for a morsel of comfort, oh no....)
It stands to reason that USAFA scoops up the LOA's first, and the...
I thought about what you said and I sympathize. Waiting like this can be tough, it'd be better if they'd just rip the bandaid off on one day and tell everyone yes or no. But they can't do that because of the structure of the academy.
What does occur to me is that many of the people who have...
Sure we only see a small amount reporting here, but if we extrapolate it would appear that they are released on a daily basis through the first three weeks of March.
Not a criticism of the system, just interested in the mechanics.
Why does USAFA release only a few appointments each day?
Obviously many colleges release everything on the same day, so I am interested in how the process works at The Academy admissions office.
Do they work from the most qualified appointees down? So that those with LOA’s get appointments...
Yes I expected some people to say they'd heard today - but nothing. My son's got a great Plan B set up but he's worked for this for three and a half years just like everyone else here so I am sure we all feel the same.
All these kids who've got to the candidate stage clearly have already...
Yes agree. I don't think they turn down principal noms unless they are way below these numbers - which never happens as they wouldn't be principal noms if they had failed school completely.
I see the opposite problem. Principal noms tend to be highly qualified and often get picked up by Ivies...
