No you did not have to write and essay... that's pretty much what the application is... it'll be all online and it's good because it actually counts as your prelim application for the real USNA application. Which means you can get started on everything earlier (such as DoDMERB- which can be a pain).

Wow. It's hard to believe the application process for c/o 2014 has begun (app. for Navy 2013 haha) it's odd to think that a year ago I had no plans to apply to USNA. Now I'm headed to NAPS and USNA and I wouldn't have it any other way. Good luck candidates for c/o 2014! Take every oppurtunity...

Anything's possible. I would contact your admissions officer and let them know about any updates to your application. When I was offered NAPS my admissions officer called and told me if I get good grades first semester (specifically: B's in AP Calc and Physics) they'd bring me in this year...

Hey there! Do you just need medical qualification? I, too, got one of these and as soon as I got medically qualified recieved the official acceptance packet. I believe it means most likely we will not be heading to USNA for class of 2013. And no not everyone recieves an offer to NAPS...

Maximus, My friend just found out yesterday that he received the 4-year Marine Option scholarship. He doesn't know where to yet though... but since he was accepted to Norwich-that's his best guess lol

Has everyone heard about the Navy's new uniforms? ...and the phasing out of summer whites and winter blues? Will USNA reflect these changes and wear the new khaki uniforms all the time? I happen to think the whites and blues look sharp...
