I have some insight here. At summer seminar we were told that a school with X% matriculation rate gets a minor boost in GPA when USAFA refigure's the GPA to their standards. I do not remember the % exactly but I think 98% is high enough. I do not know how much this boost changes your candidate...

Have any of the appointees seen a change on their portals or received a BFE in the mail? The senator who gave me a nomination retired and the new senator does not have any info on nominees.

I'm fine as long as brackets aren't involved. It would be awesome if USAFA would post pictures on Facebook of the envelopes going out like USMA did... but that doesn't really seem like their style.:rolleyes:

I would wait to send your MOC packet until your USMA portal is fully open and you're able to write your application essays. That way you'll perhaps be able to use the USMA essays in part/whole for the MOC nomination essays. Goodluck and get those turned in well before the deadline!

As Vista123 said, NASS proved to be very useful in writing essays for USNA and MOC nominations. After the session you will be able discuss in first person the qualities you think are important for USNA... at summer seminar I learned _____ trait is important. Further, when doing your BGO...
