Multiple Noms We live in IL and last year my DS received a nom from congressman and then was flat out told by Kirk and Durbins office that they would not give him a senatorial nom because he already had congressional nom. I guess it just depends.

It all depends on who you are competing against. I've seen many other candidate profiles that were as good, if not better, but no appointment. All you can do is the best you can, and then fate will decide.

A CVW invite doesn't mean anything as it relates to getting an appointment (speaking from personal experience), so don;t get your hopes up. The only thing it guarantees is that you will get to spend a weekend visiting the USNA to see what life is really like.

Understood usnabgo08, but I really wasn't trying to be sarcastic. And I am not trying to discourage anyone. I'm just being honest based on our experience with the process. Just my opinion and I know many others have alternative opinions. I have no beef with that.

The rejection is certainly bad enough, but I think it's the process that is so aggravating. You get strung along and strung along, with absolutely no insight as to where you stand. My advice to anyone who ever inquires about applying to the USNA - don't! It's hardly worth the emotional roller...
