    Watches for beast/academic year?

Hi everyone! There has been some buzz in a couple of the 2024 group chats over what watches are within regulation for beast and the actual school year. I know that there are no smart watches allowed during Beast, but are there regulations in regards to color? Does the band have to be black, or...

One Nomination down. Do I need others?

I just received notification that I received my Senator’s nomination for USMA. This was my first interviews and I still have two more scheduled interviews with my other senator and my state representative. However, the offices say that they talk so they do not nominate the same person twice, but...

    Seeking Connections

Huge emphasis on FFR!!! Depending on where you live, some are better than others but get to know them regardless. They are such a valuable resources. I'm currently a junior applying to USMA and my FFR is spectacular. She calls me before I take the ACT/SAT to wish me good luck, before my USMA...

AP exams and SAT Subject Tests

Hi all! So I know West Point will rarely accept AP credits in general (only to validate a few courses etc), but do they look at your AP exam scores during the admissions process? Will those scores at all factor into appointment? Same goes for the SAT Subject Tests. A handful of schools my...

    Girls State and SLE advice

Hi all! Just wanted to throw out a question to all who attended Girls/Boys state and SLE. I was recently nominated for Girls state by my school, and was accepted into SLE session 2. In my state, there is virtually no information about the Girls state program, but I have heard of the...

    SLE not selected

SLE counts for nothing on your admissions in terms of points. Its a nice add on, but not crucial. Attending boys/girls state, maxing your CFA, eaglescout etc hold actual admissions points.

    A bunch of SLE questions

Approximate numbers for those who applied were over 8,000+ according to my field force rep. Some areas and districts more competitive than others

    Dual Citizenship

I know there are issues with security clearance in the army and other branches. While I am unsure about USMA, I would believe it is the same. I interned with the airforce and couple of the airmen had dual citizenship and needed to rennounce one before they even joined the miltiary.

What to expect during day visit

I just did my day visit a couple weeks ago.The above comment summed it up perfectly. While it was a good experience, I cannot emphasize enough to walk around on your own afterwards. Living close to West Point, I've toured the campus many times, and the day visit is good for the admissions aspect...

    time running out...

From what I have heard, the experiences are relatively the same. As justdoit said above, choose the one you're more passionate about! But if you live close to West Point, go to USAFA and then do an overnight at West Point to get the same cadet experience. Best of luck!

    Girls State in different state?

I had a similar issue myself. My field force representative told me to choose Girls state of SLE due to the admissions format. She told me that while SLE is an amazing experience and beneficial, it does not count for any points on your USMA admissions. Girls state is worth 200 points on your...

    Nomination question

I had a friend who had this same thing except they went to school in one district (private school) but resided in another district. One was really competitive, the other was not so. They chose the less competitive district and it worked out well for them. Talk to your field force too about which...
