Wow, my son bought that line and enlisted. He went thru MEPS and took the ASVAB. What a waste of time. Don’t ever listen to a recruiter. All they care about is their quota. I don’t believe enlisting had any affect on his scholarship award.

In my sons case, he had received the scholarship before he picked a school. The school he went to (BC) had no knowledge of the scholarship during the admissions process. Not sure if that answers your question.

At my son’s school (BC), none of his financial aid and his academic scholarships were not taken away. In fact, he has a credit balance going into this year.

I agree. The recruiter is not necessary. At the time my DS was applying for his scholarship we didn’t know that. He thought joining the reserves would enhance his chances, so he enlisted. Luckily, he got the scholarship. If not, he’d have a reserve commitment with no real benefit. The recruiters...
