  • Sorry, for the late reply,
    My son received a "letter of assurance" for NAPS in july 2008, contingent upon completion of all remaining requirements (nomination, medical, CFA).
    He received his official acceptance letter in march 2009.
    Your son should continue with the application process as if he is going to the USNA including getting a nomination (make sure he sells himself like a used car saleman).
    USNA will decide if they want him to go to the Academy or NAPS.
    NAPS is great. Not as intense as the Academy and the NAPSters get paid more than plebes. also join the NAPS parent forum to get a fell of what to expect http://www.usnaprep.org/forum
