Getting in is one thing - Graduating is something else. Even some of the 'easy' majors seem significantly more rigorous than back in the day.
Since you have Uncle Sugar footing the bill you have little to lose, that said being over your head academically at Citadel can be a miserable place.
You're going to REALLY up that for any kind of ROTC scholarship I suspect
What major are you looking at pursuing? Some of them at The Citadel are academically rigorous with the addition of the Corps of Cadets lifestyle.

Unless you're a recruited D1 athlete or desirable demographic I'd say your odds are long - if your goal is to commission and serve there are multiple paths from here to there - good luck
seems to me it would be more appropriate for the federal schools to compete in D3 athletics and allow the athletes to be full members of the corps / brigade
what are your plans B through ZZ - no matter how good you are there is a very good chance you'll need then
are you good enough to play D1 Softball and at a position the academy might need, that could be a huge help
