I am not fully sure about the next steps, I would definitely keep in contact with LTC Bowen as your son will be getting his class list and what to register for from him.
Thank you! I will be going to Florida Atlantic University to get my bachelors and will still be pursuing a coast guard commission through CSPI first and if that doesn't work out, then I will apply for a DCO because my degree is a STEM degree (Biology). And if that doesn't work out then I will...
You will probably see me then! I am on battalion staff so I am easy to find in the PIR at 1200 formation! I am the last in the staff line! Come find me if you have any questions! I could also be walking around with a camera too.
Unfortunately I did not receive an appointment again :( Three got accepted at Marion (they heard about a month ago) and everyone else that applied was waitlisted. I think maybe one other person also didn't get an appointment but I am not fully sure.
I am not 100% sure. I would contact both coaches at both schools to see. I do know that there are both sponsored and non-sponsored cadets at MMI that are currently playing sports. The rules just changed so that's why I am not 100% sure.
They issue us our bedding that has to be on the beds but most kids sleep on top of that and then use a blanket. I would suggest a thicker blanket but not a comforter because that might be hard to store for inspections.
If you google PT gloves, some good examples pop up and places to buy them. We wear them on the O course and then you can wear them in the mornings when it Is cold to PT.
I previously mentioned that I was building a document that had some of my comments and suggestions on the packing list so here is that document! I also include a link to the packing list that is posted on the website so you can review what I wrote alongside it. Let me know if you have any more...
I use a Macbook air and I like it. I see a mix of different types of computers and tablets. Whatever you are comfortable using works well! You can also rent laptops from MMI!
