DS took a travel sleeping bag with him- it was thin but warm and rolled up in to a small bag that fit into one of his personal drawers.... Think we got it at a place like REI.
That bakery makes great cupcakes too! Sent my DS some on his b-day- he loved them- but was cutting weight for wrestling so he at 1/2 one and shared the rest with roommates and friends.

For 2014's it was 2 5 minute phone calls during Indoc. After Indoc they were allowed 30 minutes to make phone calls on Sundays- times varied as to when the call came. After PW I believe they were given phones all day on Sunday and could call anytime- at this point they were still standing...
Bring phone and charger- make a plan ahead of time as to which number he/she will call- the last thing you want is to miss the call after not seeing or hearing from them for almost 2 weeks.
When the phone calls comes be ready to be a cheer leader- and have the tissue handy for once the...
T-shirts- I just bought "Hanes" brand. 5 in a pack. Have DS/DD try them on before you go and buy lots.... you want them to fit- not baggy- remember once they are issued uniforms the neck must lay flat to skin. Also buy cheap- because all the laundry going in the machine together no matter...
Target or Wal-Mart- don't spend a lot of money on them- as soon as they are issued their PT gear they will only wear that. Send extra stuff also they will be changing clothes several times a day- and if this summer is anything like last summer- hot hot hot and humid! Best of luck to all!
For those questioning the value of CC have never attended..... or son't understand the pressure the Mids are under and what it's like to relax for a few minutes. Either that or they just don't understand "young adults" college students that are far from home and don't get to see family or...
While talking to DS last night after recognition he said that if the gov. shuts down all Mids will have to leave the campus... I told him to tell friends that can't get hom to hop on the bus with him and we will figure it out when they arrive! Just what they need......
