C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

If you mean no protramid, no air assault school, no Philmont, no cruise, no normal Herndon, no sea trails, no meaningful 2/c weekend, then yes. 😉 ….but it was still amazing and feel that having ‘26 dd us parents get to experience some of the missed items through the second time around. Except...

    USNA or Bust

Harper’s Ferry is indeed a beautiful place. I have been fortunate enough to visit twice and would go back a third time in a heartbeat. Also love the different feeling of visiting Hospital Point. I second your recommendations.

    Football seats

We have had seats in many sections but our favorite now is A in endzone. Lots of space, good plebe watching, good view for half the game hopefully!

Does anybody know if the Plan Of the Day (POD) for plebe summer is posted any where online?

When my son was a detailer 2 years ago now, he implemented “story time” during grey space. Being well read, he pulled different chapters and passages from an assortment of military books and memoires and read to the plebes. They loved it not only for the break but also for the positive messages...

Roller coaster I: Get Us (The Parents) Through Plebe Year - Class of ‘26 🎢

So true! My firstie was strongly in camp Never Herndon when ‘23s Reform Herndon was announced. Ultimately he participated in the active scrum for an hour at the base and was both happy he participated and his class conquered! Prevailing Monday morning QB opinion was that USNA leadership made the...

Roller coaster I: Get Us (The Parents) Through Plebe Year - Class of ‘26 🎢

My firstie and his 3 friends were discussing w my plebe. Their take was that hopefully ’26 works smarter and not harder. They thought many may take a more passive role as a result of recovery process. Maybe it will lead to a more organized climb with an executed plan? We shall see…

Roller coaster I: Get Us (The Parents) Through Plebe Year - Class of ‘26 🎢

Yes however the opportunity to individually shotgun yourself was available and a fair amount of plebes took advantage of that. There will be new company socials next week as I understand.

    Electric bikes

Also might have a real shot at the USNA appointment with your solution vs the fast and loose interpretation of Mid Regs. Best not to blow it before you start. Reminds me of the “printer discussion” I had with my DD on move in day of regular college when she insisted way toooo hard that she...

    PTR Forms

Last year I sent DD medical forms with tracking and return receipt (the only time I’d sent that way and she was mind #2). A week before reporting she got an email asking for her to email the form they never received which was simple because we had scans as well as copies and they were the...

    Waitlist

We shared a water taxi after IDay 2019 with a dad fro Alabama or Arkansas whose son got the call a week before. He hadn’t gone on family trip and that’s the only reason he was there for the call. I remember him saying his head was spinning with the last few days. Amazing to think! And now they...

🌟 Countdown to commissioning ‘23: ARE YOU READY??

My firstie is on the way home with my plebe! Tomorrow, my “other son” (his international plebe summer roommate who started as a 2 week houseguest during quarantine and finished 7 months later as a full fledged member of the family group chat) and 2 others from plebe company will join for a few...

    NASS decision 2023

For those who were not accepted to NASS, I understand your disappointment. Neither of my kids were accepted to NASS. My son is commissioning later this month and my daughter will be a detailer at NASS. It will have no negative bearing on your application but could have a positive one if you fill...

    NROTC to USNA

My son was turned down in mid April as a hs senior. He went the college programmer route NROTC and the captain of the unit was dismayed that he didn't have the scholarship, but he didn’t. He worked hard and loved his unit and school all first semester and also completed the reapplication to...

USNA Class of 2027 Appointment List Updated By Posters

Congrats to you on your successful 2 years in the AFROTC unit. Congrats to you on your appointment to USNA. In my opinion, if you do it “right” and with your whole heart, it should be a hard decision leaving the unit for USNA. You’ll know what is best for you as you take the time to digest...
