Thanks K...So talked to my son. Was a bit more bummed than I expected, but couldn’t be more proud of how he handled it. Said (I didn’t ask)“Dad give me a month To figure out UT, and then I’ll decide what to do. “ my response. “Done!”
Best of luck to all.
One of the things that always turned me on to the SA’s for my son was (and I may be wrong) less distractions. I think most hard working young men, like yourself, would thrive in that kind of envirement.
Just got a text from my boy. TWE email and update on portal. Next stop UT-Cockrell school of engineering. Chemical engineering that is. Haven’t spoke to him yet so not yet sure if he plans on re-applying. To soon to ask I am sure. Nicest group of people that I ever met that I never met...
Great Posts Doolie. My DS has not spoken to his BGO since a week after interview. No other reason than he is a very patient young man. Yesterday I saw first crack in the wall, when he said "You think we should call someone?" my response was stay patient good or bad its almost over. Any upside or...
Yeah, I guess I was wrong to assume they were just waiting on another SA. I also agree that appointee has earned the right to take his/her time to make right decision. I Just feel that the difference between a #1 in 99% of districts would be minuscule and #2 should at the very least have...
So that could be a reason why an MOC has 2 appointments back to back years. That is a bit discouraging. So even though the #2 on a slate could be equally as qualified as person who basically gets his/her MOC appointment. For the first time in the process, I feel that is unfair. USNA picks the...
I don’t understand why CPR’ers will be notified of something by 4/15 yet appointees aren’t required to accept appointment until 5/1. What if your DS/DD is #2 on a slate and #1 decides on 5/1 to decline?
With the "2022 group chat" thread posting 233 signed up and counting. I am thinking that maybe the young women and men receiving appointments this year are a little more reluctant to post things on a public website than in years past. Just a thought.
Same here in NY. Starting to deflate a bit. I am kind of getting the feeling “No news is good news” isn’t really the case anymore. But still holding out hope.
