University awarded scholarships and AROTC tuition/fees award

I had a half-ride merit scholarship from my university. The Army paid the balance of my tuition and fees. So they paid the other half. Now it could be different depending on University, but from my understanding and experience the Army pays what is left after academic scholarship.

    AROTC vs AFROTC

I had an LOA from USAFA and went w/ a 4-year AROTC scholarship, haven't regretted it once. Also had an AFROTC scholarship but since I wasn't sure what I wanted to do/study before starting college, I decided to go with Army since more flexibility w/ majors and careers, in my opinion. Although I...

What physical exam is the Army currently using for ROTC?

For scholarship: PFA (push ups, sit ups, mile run) While in AROTC/Army: ACFT (hex bar deadlift, standing power throw, hand release push ups, sprint drag carry, plank, two mile run) Sometimes the PFA is referred to as the 1-1-1

    Army ROTC chances

Although every situation/applicant is different, if it helps with where you're at now, I got a 4-year from the first board with lesser academic stats than that. Similar extracurriculars and also maxed PFA test. Going into MS4 year and have enjoyed Army ROTC so far. Happy w/ decision to do ROTC...

    ROTC scholarship

Accepting the scholarship just "reserves your spot" essentially. It's non binding

    Chances of Acceptance

Seems like you got everything the academy looks for in a prospective cadet. The biggest advice I think anyone can give you is enjoy the time left you have in high school, keep up with what your doing, but focus on the "now". Make the most of the friendships, sports, and everything else that is...

    Appointment

I'm in the same spot. I think our MOC probably notifies candidates of their nomination before they send it over to admissions, and they have to process it and update the portal, so it probably just takes a little bit, being that its the holidays. A representative from my MOC office said...

Air Force Academy Back up Plan

I just received my acceptance to University of North Dakota's Unmanned Aircraft system operations program, awaiting a decision from AFROTC. This is one of my backups to USAFA.

I'm starting to have my doubts

You gotta complete to compete! If you've come this far just power through and hope for the best. If it's something you really want then train as much as you can for the CFA and making your application unique, even if you are not the most competitive applicant. I think people (myself included)...

    CFA Situation

I had a similar situation in my school and after talking with my principal, gym teacher, and superintendant of schools, I got permission to come in during a time where there were no other students in the gym and was able to take my cfa, but I had to wear a mask. It wasn't the easiest thing but...

Is there anything to read between the lines here? Or nothing to see?

I got the same email back in July... that last paragraph is key "In order to compete, you have to complete" and that's exactly what I did and you should too. Sure, it seemed a little disappointing at first- but finish the application as strong and confident as you were before. Now its just a...

    cfa check mark

the check mark means they've reviewed and your good, you would be contacted or receive correspondence on the portal if they want you to retake it

    CFA Prep

Oh yeah and one other thing: I found that I started doing better on the practice CFAs when I stopped stressing over the CFA... I don't know the exact breakdown but I think the CFA is only a small part of the overall admissions process, obviously a really low score on anything can be...

    CFA Prep

You maxed out the mile time, but have you gotten your mile time after doing the 5 other parts of the CFA? I run cross country and track and can easily run a 5:30 mile on any given day, but trust me, when you exert so much energy from the BB-throw, shuttle run, pull ups, push ups, and sit ups...

    Medically Qualified!

Understood. Thank you. After reading this thread back over I realized that OP and others did not need waivers. Best of luck to all
