Is the Herndon climb always the Monday of Commissioning Week? As Parents of a Plebe; We want to be there and are planning ahead as much lodging in DTA is booking/booked already ! ( especially from Tuesday on)

I did the same for Plan B school and and to us it is $ well spent . A non-refundable deposit is just that. the only issue would be if it was " Early decision " which is binding.

Dorms which is a great option. We have a friend whose son is also Aerospace Engineering at SU ( not ROTC) who loves the program and is thriving/excelling there.

Syracuse offered 15,000 for room and Board, will match the 18,000 the 1st year which essentially converts it to a 4 year type 2 AFROTC scholarship . Together with the 28,000 ECS leadership DS was offered -it brings the scholarship award to 61,000 /year . We will reach out to RPI after our visit...

Any feedback on Syracuse University AFROTC? DS 1st choice was initially RPI, but with Merit Scholarships and conversion of Type 7 from 3-4 years, He is now looking more closely with an accepted student/AROTC visit scheduled next week. (Major will be Aerospace Engineering)

My son was invited to a CVW as a HS Junior last March. It was actually before he started his 2023 application . He did not get an LOA , but received an offer of Appointment in January. We are still not sure how/why he was invited, but he did meet with a Navy recruiter at his HS a few weeks...

School always ends late, but this is the latest graduation and the 1st one on a Wednesday ( was Saturday, then Frida for many years) since we moved into our home/district 15 years ago!
