Replying to this thread everyday until an appointment/rejection

Last year my DS got on the waitlist on April 17th….then waited until May 2nd when he got his turn down. I remember some folks waited until the end of May. I’m guessing a waitlist will come out soon.

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

My DS was turned down for PA-16. I know of one other turndown for our district and two appointments for PA-16.

Reapplying to USNA (after a turndown)

My DS’s best Marine Option ROTC buddy is on the D1 wrestling team as well as NROTC. He doesn’t have to do morning PT. His daily D1 workouts count towards his PT time. He still has to take all the fitness tests like the PRT etc. though. And he’s involved in all of the other activities they do...

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

My DS is yes 👍 but he is at Pitt… since Carnegie Mellon, Pitt and Duquesne are all part of one unit…they will be doing all the ROTC things together 😊

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Gulp!!! Well folks it’s the end of a two year saga. My DS just called with the Turn Down. 😳 It has been wonderful to have this SAF family of supporters to turn to for advice. I will say, I am excited for all of the appointments and I am here if you need any advice. My DS knew there was a slim...

    Trying to choose NROTC schools

He’s fine with it, but if it were any further he said it would be painful! The schools have e-bikes and scooters all over campus which is convenient. Carnegie Mellon and Pitt are right next door to each other so it’s not too far to gi. He’s a Marine Option so they workout an extra day more than...

    Trying to choose NROTC schools

My son is doing NROTC at Pitt and takes an electric scooter/bike three days a week at 4:30/5am to Carnegie Mellon which is next door (about a mile away). Trust me you do not want to travel far that early in the am.

This!!! Everything you say is exactly my DS as well!!! I am so thankful that you are here to ride through another end of the cycle with me!! I’m hoping we can meet in Annapolis and give a big toast…and laugh and laugh at how crazy and wonderful we all are on SAF!!! One can only hope!!

USNA Class of 2028 Offers of Appointment Self-Updating List (Posters copy, paste, update with their entry)

I didn’t realize as I responded that I am in the appointments thread…my apologies. And I guess at the end of the day I was just surprised not to see many NROTC that’s all. It’s been a long two year wait. My apologies. I’ll go back to waiting 😉

USNA Class of 2028 Offers of Appointment Self-Updating List (Posters copy, paste, update with their entry)

I think @Lkt has a very strong point. The thing every reapplicant is told when they decide to reapply is join a NROTC unit and get good grades etc etc. It seems that most reapplicants listed so far are not in NROTC or they are but haven’t mentioned it? I have asked several folks with...

Replying to this thread until appointment/redirection (with a JROTC nom)

One week from today and we will all know something!!! Cheers to that!! I have a sinking feeling my DS will move to the waitlist like last year but at least we move the needle in a direction…right?!?

    Waiver limbo hangout

Waiver people tend to be the last to find out anything. There were many of us at the end and on the waitlist last year. It’s not an easy road and yes it can be frustrating.

    Eclipse 🌖

Erie, PA here…home of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry and the maker of the Don’t Give Up the Ship Flag….sitting in the path of totality for the eclipse!! We had two bright sunny days yesterday and today…no clouds. Tomorrow’s forecast…partly cloudy….fingers crossed we get to see it!
