    Compression Shorts

They will issue compression shorts (at least they have in the past 2 years), and those ones are black. Also, the color of undergarments doesn't matter as much as you think it might. I would personally suggest gray because all the socks and underwear are washed together during BCT causing the...

Will an anxiety disorder disqualify me?

My two cents: Honestly, you should be fine getting in (obviously, I could be wrong, but as long as it's not incapacitating and you can finish BCT, it shouldn't be a problem); however, you might not be pilot qualified. There are SO MANY jobs in the Air Force though. If you want to go to USAFA...

    Items for BCT - Females

I bought a large bottle of 3-in-1 at home, transferred it to travel size bottles, and brought it out here. I ended up needing more so I bought some at the C-Store on one of our trips. I did go to Walmart the night before with my B&B host family to get a few other things that I hadn't brought...

    Items for BCT - Females

We (2019) were issued nail clippers to trim the cables off our ABUs. I'm not sure if that will be continued this year, but I also brought a pair with me and had no problems.

    Items for BCT - Females

I used a snap clip for my bangs and pony tail holders for the rest of my hair throughout all of Basic. I have pretty long hair that is also very thick. When we were given showers in the middle of the day, my hair would still be very damp at the end of the day. I generally tried to let it sort of...

    Eyeglasses for Cadets

The "BCGs" that were issued last summer were small, black plastic rim glasses. They weren't ugly at all, slightly boring, but not ugly. Many cadets continue wearing them after BCT. I know a 16er who got the issued glasses at some point during her cadet career, wore them through her firstie year...

    Molded Cleats

Obviously, it could be different this summer, but we did have them last year.

    Molded Cleats

The only thing cleats will be used for in BCT is intramurals. I played softball, so it was helpful to have my cleats. There is also soccer, flag football, and maybe a couple other sports where cleats will be useful. If you DD is an IC, she won't be playing intramurals, but she may need her...

    Ankle brace

They do like you to be healthy, but if you have it in your backpack, I seriously doubt anyone will ask about it. Also, while the boots do have pretty good ankle support, I know during 1st BCT you will probably wearing athletic shoes quite a bit.

    Ankle brace

You should be fine to bring it and wear it as long as you can still wear your boots properly.

    Boots for bct?

2019 was definitely allowed to wear non-issued boots. I know for 2020 that it is highly recommended that you bring a pair with you (I've spoken to some of your future cadre and they agree with that recommendation). I also believe the information given to the appointees lists specific types of...

    I-Day

The Bed & Breakfast program is awesome, but if you do stay in a hotel, there may be other people heading to USAFA from there since there are about 1200 people coming for I-Day. If you do take a cab, take one with gate access because neither North Gate nor South Gate is remotely close to where...

    Boots for bct?

They're actually really nice boots. Just a bit heavy. Totally doable though obviously seeing as thousands of people have worn them for Basic and been just fine.

    Boots for bct?

If I were you, I would have your parents send your Nike boots out after A-Day. That's what I did last year. Hodge is 100% correct about the boots not being super durable. Also, they aren't waterproof, which is something you will probably want in a pair of boots, especially for Basic.

I was Hellcats (the last squadron) last summer, and our report time was 11:15 a.m.
