    Question for current USAFA cadets

My 2025 was issued a PC. I think they all were? He uses his Mac for personal use.

    ETP timeline

***Update*** Hopefully this helps others in the same situation. My son was medically disqualified in October, waiver denied in November and we had verbal confirmation that his ETP was approved but not signed in November. On January 3, we got a notification that the ETP was signed but still...

    ETP timeline

A small correction for those either active duty or veterans of the military for whom I am sure me calling the superintendent a supervisor was like nails on a chalkboard. I currently have a broken hand that is in a cast, so I have to rely on voice to text dictation. Some of the small details slip...

    ETP timeline

That does line up with what we were told but I am still just more confused than ever and I'm just going to show up on June 26. We were told by my son's coach that the supervisor signed off on his ETP January 3. It still says waiver, denied and medically disqualified. But as I understand it...

    International travel before I day

Yes, thank you understood. This is a highly chaperoned trip. Highly highly chaperoned .

    International travel before I day

My son was just invited to an epic trip to Morrocco after graduation and before I day. The dates work and I am just wondering if there is any restriction to that travel?

    ETP timeline

That is really interesting information. Everybody that is eligible, or is up for, an ETP is discussed at this one meeting April 8-10 and then we will all know the outcome of that after that? Thanks for passing that along.

I am not exactly sure. I think it was the team to which has been recruited? Maybe the entire athletic department or the liaison that covers recruited athletes that need waivers? I'm sorry I don't have a straight answer for you.

    ETP timeline

We were told my son's ETP was signed by the supe in December. He received a conditional appointment in January and DoDMERB kept saying waiver under review. I, perhaps, stupidly, contacted admissions, and they said they did not know anything about the ETP and the next day it went to waiver...

    Current Frosh AMA

I completely agree with this. As the parent of a 2ndº vying for a job, I am bummed about his rank, due to his MPA, but I, and he, is sure it will all work out.

Is there anyone even to contact? WWYD?

Yes, he was recruited in July of 2022. I am not of a military background, but I think ETP stands for (exception to policy), which means a waiver was granted. It seems like it is either just taking a long time for USAFA to let DoDMERB know, or it wasn't really approved?

Is there anyone even to contact? WWYD?

My son was DQ'd in October. His coach stepped in and helped with everything, and on Dec 25th, after many hoops, extra medical appointments and the athletic liaison going in front of the medical board, he received a conditional appointment. On January 3rd, the coach reached out and told DS that...

    Standards in Free Fall

Just in the nick of time before signing that acknowledgment, I am sure. 😂 I have cadet #2 starting next year. In typical little brother fashion, I am sure he will way he has no idea why DS #1 said it was hard. 🫡

    Standards in Free Fall

My C2C said today they had to sign a piece of paper that said if they were found "hazing" or reported for hazing by someone, they would possibly be removed from the Academy. As such, he said next year's basic will be a joke, because no one wants to jeopardize their own education/career...
