    what SMC?
    09R are SMP contracts, they aren't suppose to go to BCT.
    GRFD or Minuteman scholarships are very tough to be released for active duty. Not impossible but very difficult to go from NG/Reserve to AD at graduation.
    ROO really does not have anything to do with a GRFD/Minuteman scholarship.

    I'd rather not say which school in case it might get back to them that I've asked questions on his behalf here. The reason for BCT is still a mystery. Maybe a requirement specifically by the Reserves? DS doesn't plan to go active duty, and the reason he was willing to enlist Reserves and try for the GRFD. It was the ROO who pushed him this direction because he didn't get the ROTC scholarship. Thank you for the reply.
