I'm a USMA grad, with a midshipman son....funny, I just posted a bit ago on a different thread a question as to whether anyone saw the end of the game stuff in the end zone....was curious as to others' reactions. I did not see the Walker thing, or the throwing of trash or anything like that...

I'm a west point grad with a son at annapolis...great time as always at the game, catching up with classmates, parents of mids, etc...great communities on both sides. That said - and I was a corps squad athlete at the academy so understand the competitive nature of any Army v Navy game - anyone...

ElevatingCondor - be happy to share our experiences with you if you PM me....I am a USMA grad, have a daughter who is a ND grad, and my youngest son is at USNA now - he had the same kind of decision - USMA, USNA or ND ROTC, and after a good deal of thought, chose USNA...to extent his experience...

Thanks Sydney - and if you will tolerate me a few follow ups - you note "prescribed by USNA"; I take it that you had some communication with the Academy, and that the Academy suggested courses to take? Did your DS then have to go through any sort of readmission process?

Hello Sydney - hope you don't mind me asking - did your DS then attend USNA, one year later? Or stay at the "insurance" school? If he ended up at USNA in the next year's class - curious as to your thoughts as to the advantages of attending the other school for a year?

Thank you beantown - I'm a USMA grad, and he ultimately decided to accept at USNA over USMA - very difficult decision that he gave a lot of thought to - went on the overnights to both academies. We hope this opens a spot for a well deserving candidate for USMA, and are honored to join the USNA...
