    USNA Application Portal Problem

My son's portal still shows his c/o 2027 info and candidate # and hasn't updated to the c/o 2028 yet. He called before he left for NSI and they said it would update in late July. He won't be home until August 7th so I'm not super worried, but I was hoping he could get a lot of this done before...

    NROTC Limbo

It might be difficult for them to schedule a summer interview. My son is an incoming freshman and because of some uncertainty whether he would attend USNA or one of his top 2 choices civilian schools, we never made it out to CU Boulder to see the campus until June. He contacted the NROTC unit...

    NSI PAY

My son had to submit an authorization to his NROTC unit for purposes of all pay/reimbursement with his bank account info. When he got his orders for NSI, it included an itemization of what he was being paid for the time there as well as mileage (we drove since we're local). It was a couple...

    Application Progress

Have any re-applicants noticed that the old application is still there with no way to begin a new one? DS already has his new candidate number but the portal isn't reflecting anything.

    ap exams

I guess my first question is, what year is your DS? If he is anything other than an incoming plebe, he should plan his life as if he might not get in. I know that's not the hope or the ideal, but if he only worries about what transfers to USNA and is not offered an appointment, he may wish he...

    Re-Applicant Thread

I'm a runner and I have run a few races in Colorado and Utah and it's always rough for me but I'm sure part is that I am there to run and then leave (no time to acclimate) and also, considerably older than DS. Dang old people lungs!! I'm sure you are right, he'll bounce back a lot faster than...

    Re-Applicant Thread

DS was trying to decide if he wanted to re-do the CFA this summer here at home or wait and do it with his NROTC LT. I coach club swim at the HS so I have access to all the equipment we'd need and can have one of the other coaches or a PE teacher administer it. But he was thinking he'd like to...

DS will be NSI 3 but I'd love the FB group link too -- thanks!!

    Re-Applicant Thread

My son spoke to his admissions counselor a couple of days ago and I am sort of disappointed in what he learned. Our expectation was that his SATs needed to be higher. They were good but not great and we knew it (this was after a few re-takes...he just doesn't test well). That wasn't it. He...

Candidate Number for Class of 2028

Did you have to do anything to let them know you are re-applying? Or did it just show up?

    Re-Applicant Thread

I'm grateful it's not open yet. We're still reeling from last year and my son needs a break to focus on some other things before doing this again. So please USNA, keep that portal closed another couple of weeks. 😂

    Swimming at Summer Seminar (1)

My son did NASS last summer and is a long time competitive swimmer -- was excited about a chance to swim there. The only time they swam was during sea trials and it was like a rifle relay type thing. Not anything overly complex.
