    Cadet leadership

Cadets are selected for higher leadership positions based on merit and interviews. There will be an application (Class rank, extracurriculars. etc.) and potentially a writing sample (Vision Statement, Commanders Intent, etc.) followed by interviews. Usually the higher the position the more...

ACT score submissions and super scores

Not sure if somebody mentioned this and I missed it, but the latest you can submit new scores for your USAFA application is January 31st. They will super score until then.

    USAFA Summer Seminar

Probable dates are 7-11 June for the first session and 14-18 June for the second session. There will probably be an online version available. COVID is a very fluid situation so the Academy has many options.

    Unique Resume Question

While I am unaware if it will help you in the admissions process, I do know that while at the Academy you will walk a fine line if you monetize your account. Below is a line pulled directly from a USAFA social media guide. "Don’t use your Air Force Academy affiliation, official title or...

Correct. Here's a great website to show you when to begin the process. Admissions Cycle Dates | U.S. Air Force Academy (academyadmissions.com)

Starting a military club at my school

It may not be exactly what you were thinking as far as doing "military" things but a book club dedicated to military literature would be a good idea. If you do not know what to read there are many reading suggestions from Secretary Mattis to General McChrystal and everyone in between. You would...

When Do Most People Hear Back/People Who Have Been Admitted Scores and Stuff

Prep School slots will follow the same course as the Academy does. I do not think there are any early notifications.

    Getting PPL at the Academy?

The Flying team is highly competitive because, well its the Air Force Academy. Cadets have the opportunity to apply during 4 degree year. They always say you do not need a PPL to join but it is highly encouraged. If the cadet has almost completed required PPL hours and requirements the team may...

When Do Most People Hear Back/People Who Have Been Admitted Scores and Stuff

No, you cannot apply directly to the USAFA Prep School. Usually you get "prepped" if your application is competitive in all aspects but may be academically at risk. This usually includes cadet candidates who have scored lower on standardized tests, did not have the appropriate college...

Air Force Academy CFA confusion and delay

Visit your portal and find who your counseling team is. Email them and have West Point send your scores. Since you are overdue for your CFA and close to the deadline of closing your kit, I do not think you have enough time to retake. While 3 pull-ups may not have been your best performance...

    Martial Arts

Each cadet candidate is unique; no two are the same. The Admissions Board understands that not every student wants (or has the opportunity) to play sports and may instead choose to do something else. Sports are generally given a large emphasis because it is many applicants way of showing...

Travel abroad while in the academy

In the pre-COVID world traveling abroad was not a problem as long as you made sure it wasn't restricted by the DoD (you can check which areas those are on Google) and you received a safety brief from the Academy. As mentioned above you will not be able to extend your summer break by deferring or...

Jobs dropping at USAFA today !!

I know cadets in the 800s were getting pilot slots. I'm sure somebody has the exact numbers but I do not.

Jobs dropping at USAFA today !!

Its down about a hundred or so from last year. It seems COVID has helped retention as the airlines were not hiring. As far as '22 and '23 getting more slots, I would be surprised if they got more than 400 because of complications from having so many LTs waiting for UPT.
