    AROTC Interview Question

Also agree with gojack. I had the opportunity to do this at my top school. I flew in mid-day Sunday, did the interview immediately, then had all afternoon and the night with one of their cadets. I got to see his "life" and meet a bunch of other ROTC cadets. Super cool kids. The battalion is...

Do intelligence officers ever see combat?

Although this maybe isn't the MOST on-topic, I'm just wondering what the average day of an Army intel officer would look like? Both when deployed and when stateside.

    Scoliosis-how can I be proactive?

Definitely agree-get the paperwork ready now, along with doctors statements, coaches opinions, etc. Get together anything and anything that might help you out. Also, when you get the letter to schedule this stuff, GET IT DONE. The sooner everything is in, the sooner DODMERB will review your...

    My DoDMERB website

NROTC should be automatically added upon winning a scholarship. Might want to have Mr. Mullen double-check on this.

    Army ROTC PFT Question

I agree with ashlay. The PFT is only designed to make sure you're in some sort of shape. If you show up at school in poor physical condition, believe me when I say that they WILL give you a program to get you in shape. With this in mind, note that this time puts you nowhere near freshman...

    AROTC Interview Question

If VMI is your top school AND it is realistic for you to go there for the interview, I HIGHLY encourage you to do so. I just won an AROTC scholarship, and I think the reason I got what I did is because I went the extra mile to go to the #1 school to interview there. Getting the PMS to match a...

    ROTC Rifle a "sport"?

Ohio-your son has pretty similar qualifications to me in terms of no athletics but strong academics and leadership. I would say he has a really strong chance of getting one on the next board (depending on schools of intent on his application). FloridaDad-The interview comprises 200 of your...

    Scholarships available?

I guess my answer to your question (and hopefully someone more qualified will either back me up on this or correct my misunderstanding) is that there ARE scholarships. There have been every year. With that said, the # may change with each year, as may the number of applicants. This can factor...

How to improve my resume for AROTC?

Hmm...can't speak for the south. I did do my Army ROTC interview down in the south, but I live in the north (Michigan, to be exact). I didn't get questioned too much about stuff; more just spent a lot of time talking about the Army.

Ideal time to send in AROTC scholarship app?

This does also factor into it, but in battalions with 100+ cadets, one cadet will NOT make or break that year's commissioning numbers. Some cadets will come and go with the the years as it is, so a lot of this comes down to the money.

    Any advice?

Where's this CAP group? Definitely count me in...

    Any advice?

I do indeed mean Red Sox fan :) As for PJOC, I do know current members of CAP who have attended. It is tough to get. The NCSA selection process certainly favors older cadets and officers (both of which I fall nicely into). Let me iterate, however, that going to PJOC does NOT mean that you...

Ideal time to send in AROTC scholarship app?

Sounds good. My mountain of homework is waiting for me, but I will reply ASAP :thumb:

    Scholarships available?

I would like to suggest keeping the debate civil. I don't think that Clarksonarmy ever said that you WEREN'T dedicated; he was merely asking why you had to drop Army ROTC. Scholarships in general are ALWAYS going to be tight. They're free money. That doesn't come easy. The Army is no...

Ideal time to send in AROTC scholarship app?

One thing to keep in mind-if you're starting to SERIOUSLY consider an out of state public school or private school (the more expensive options), I would move those up on your schools of choice. It is VERY tough to move a scholarship from an in state public to either of the other 2 than it is to...
