    Room and Board

Anybody know about Air Force ROTC colleges who offer a room/board deal?

In-Service Select - Will only be in ROTC 2 years

WOW - Lots of acronyms I'm not very familiar with - I was a direct commission Navy Medical Service Corps officer so I know different acronyms! Yes, this might not be the right forum to ask questions, I've just been seeking info anywhere I can on the web. I thought maybe current ROTC cadre &...

In-Service Select - Will only be in ROTC 2 years

My son certainly can salute! And march too - He was a member of the McGuire AFB regional ceremonial honor guard for a year. His scholarship was in-service select for AFROTC, he's a SSgt coming off an Air Force enlisted stint as a PMEL. No problems with prior college work being accepted, my...

In-Service Select - Will only be in ROTC 2 years

My son just got selected for the Air Force ASCP scholarship but he already has an A.S degree so he'll only be in AFROTC for his last two years of college. What is the det likely to do with him this fall? Would he still be considered a "first year" cadet and be treated as such or integrated in...

Ex-Enlisted going to ROTC this fall... Advice needed

Yes, he's been deployed and has garnered 10 medals & ribbons in just a few years of Air Force active duty. That's only one less than I earned during my 28 year Army & Navy career! However, as I read the AFROTC regs, he could only wear a Purple Heart or awards for valor while a cadet. He was...

Physical Therapist in the Air Force!

I'm a retired Navy Medical Service Corps officer so I have some knowledge about this field. Active duty presents a very narrow opportunity in this specialty as all the military services have very small numbers of physicial therapy officers who are principally involved with department...

    Final decision already?

If the recruiter's responses don't seem sensible, I would seek information form another source. My son's recruiter was a straight shooter but I've heard other stories - Their primary goal is to recruit into enlisted ranks.

Ex-Enlisted going to ROTC this fall... Advice needed

I was a little abstract with my initial post, I'll admit. I'd forgotten the Coastie jokes - "Knee deep Navy" we used to say!

Ex-Enlisted going to ROTC this fall... Advice needed

Actually, note that the inquiry above is not "I got an ROTC scholarship". I'm doing inquiries to help out my son so I can give good advice. Just yesterday he got word about selection for an Air Force ASCP Type 2 ROTC scholarship. He's an Air Force SSGT in the PMEL field - Highly complex...

Ex-Enlisted going to ROTC this fall... Advice needed

In-service selected for ROTC scholarship, back to college this fall! I suspect a prior enlisted cadet is much in the minority with all the other fresh out of high school cadets! Some say staying stealth about active duty is the way to go but it's bound to be found out. Will the upper class...
