I understand. There are lots of these stories represented on the forums right now. Candidates who had the decision made for them (TWE/no ROTC), candidates who received an offer they weren't expecting (Prep/FFS), or who received an appt to an SA that was not their primary. Lots of pivoting...

I understand the decision making is tricky, but having a direct appointment to “only one” SA and the option of a 4 year afrotc scholarship are options many would love to have at this stage. Being offered full tuition in two branches of service - those are incredible options.😉

They’ll notify. At this stage, and based on last year’s pending people, I think its safe to assume we won’t hear anything until May 1 or after. Keep living life! I have gotten so much done this week thanks to the need for distraction. 😅

If DS were to receive a late appointment to USAFA, are the dental imaging records required by USMA also applicable to onboarding at USAFA? (Panarex and bitewings) We will be paying out of pocket for the imaging and are trying to be smart about it! Thanks.

Agree!!! I am so thankful you have some finality here. The emotional back/forth is the worst!!! It is so good to be able to get excited about a specific path!!! And, your DS. His path looks very bright!!! Congratulations!!!

I have to say, DS has a wonderful ALO. His eagerness to talk with DS by text, phone call, and in person, has been a bright spot in this journey! Hoping your DS gets some clarification on his situation soon!

ALO updated DS last night… DS is in the wings for an as of yet unaccepted appointment in our state. It just reminded me that there’s always someone on the other side trying to make one of the most important decisions of their life - praying for that appointee and all kids who are finalizing...

Still pending. Can anyone offer insight into this category of no appointment, no TWE, no Waitlist notification at this stage? I’m assuming we’re waiting on an appointee in our state to accept/decline their appointment, but I’m speculating.

@Catsmon Was your dd waitlisted for a direct appointment, FFS, or USAFAPS? If FFS, we've seen in this thread a few go on the waitlist and get offers within the week! The waiting thread from c/o 2027, page 54 and on, is good reading for those of us in limbo land.

A parent of a current candidate here… As a sophomore, my advice to you is to first dig deep into making a varsity letter happen if at all possible. My ds is an applicant this year and that varsity letter was the toughest aspect of his application. DS dropped competing in his favorite activity...

DS selected the extras. Purchasing the items separately seemed both less convenient and potentially more expensive.
