    Citadel tution

I posted this in another thread, I spoke last week to an NROTC officer at a school where my Daughter had applied and was accepted. She did not receive an NROTC Scholarship this year (she graduates from HS in June). The officer told me that there were zero "College Program" NROTC Scholarships...

    will this be the week

I guess I should have been clearer..I was wondering about "Service Academy Appointment" status, not the interview appointment with the MOC. I wonder if my Congressman will know about it if my Daughter gets Appointed to USNA, or if they will just inform the Senator who actually gave her the...

LOA Without A Nom -- Watch Out

Luigi, I guess I don't completely disagree with you either, I just think that the system has some merits and the overall benefit to the class by trying to spread the appointments out to the entire country can't be measured by the Whole Candidate Score. An interesting thing to know (only one?)...

LOA Without A Nom -- Watch Out

Yep but I guess my point was that nobody tells USNA where to take the people from. They choose the other alternates themselves, off of the MOC nom lists, regardless of any common criteria other than being a type of person that the USNA wants to admit.

LOA Without A Nom -- Watch Out

IMO, essentially forcing geographical diversity in the SAs is a good thing. People from different parts of the country think differently, and having exposure to that many different viewpoints can only broaden the experiences of the candidates, helping to make them more effective leaders. After...

    will this be the week

I'm curious, since my D received her nom from a Senator, if our Congressman's rep will be in the loop on her status. Thoughts?

    Question about scholarships

Another piece of info I got from the NROTC guy I talked to, who is on staff at one of the NROTC units at a school my daughter is interested in.... If you attend an NROTC school and then affiliate with the NROTC unit as a non-scholarship student, you have 2 years to get picked up for the...

    Question about scholarships

From what some NROTC people have told me, as long as you haven't affiliated with an NROTC unit at a college, you can re-apply for the NROTC scholarship the same way that a HS student would between junior/senior years (you still have to meet all the other requirements like age etc.). If you...

    Thanks.....and congratulations to your daughter!

3 q'd and nominated, will I get into naps?

I'm curious...which did she get first, NAPS or the SQ letter? I have seen others on this board in the past say that it's possible to get NAPS, and then later get an Appointment.

3 q'd and nominated, will I get into naps?

I think there was some confusion (at least I was confused  ) due to the question that was asked about being triple qualified and getting a NAPS spot. Since you weren't SQ (which is more than academics) then you are eligible for NAPS. I am guessing that once a candidate is deemed...
