Applying is the first step but don’t expect him to get all or any of them. They are limited in numbers. Apply to as many as he can and see where the experiences open.
What Capt MJ said..spot on. Prior service are compensated in pay, experience and leadership opportunities and increase time in service. However, every time a new training begins, more time is taxed on. 4 years at CGA = 5 more years in CG service.
I have heard great things about people who did not receive the acceptance to CGA on their first round, but went to MMI taking the same classes at the prep scholars and then reapplied and got in.
Like a couple other people on here suggested, apply to a school like MMI and take the same courses as the prepsters ( CGAS scholars) and reapply. I know a fine cadet who was not a recruited athlete that went this route ( yes, paid his own way) and received an full appointment the following year...
You are correct. The first page of the two is filled in. Its a survey they have been doing for a couple years no. The pre-paperwork is done so the processing during week 1 moves quickly.
