My son was awarded a 4 yr Army ROTC scholarship back in June of this year. Unfortunately so far the ROTC scholarship has not paid out yet and he is getting eviction notices from his dorm. In addition if he is not paid up by 2nd week of December he can't register for Spring.
I'm wondering if...
My son is a freshman and received the 4 yr Army ROTC scholarship.
So far he has not received his ROTC scholarship and is getting close to being kicked out of the dorm for lack of payment. This also means he can't register for Spring classes if he has unpaid debt to the school.
I told him to...
My son received TWE today and will pursue Engineering with an ROTC and academic scholarship. He will not reapply to any of the academies in the future since he doesn't want to retake classes.
For those few complaining about not being notified of a TWE or appointment I have found that my son's journey in the academy application process since January of 2016 has prepared him well in the college application process. He has secured an academic scholarship and a ROTC scholarship as well...
Better to learn you have a bad CPA on this subject than having him cost you thousands in penalties. Unless your taxes are complicated I would vote on Turbotax.
Son has been declined by USNA and Coast Guard Academy due to color deficiency issues. Hoping there will be good news forthcoming from the Air Force Academy. Like most others this process started in February of 2016.
I don't think he found out what color combinations he had issues with but I'm thinking it was red/white. He hasn't heard an official "no" yet but the baseball coach that recruited him didn't seem optimistic.
Actually my son received his TWE saying he was medically disqualified from attending the USNA after I wrote that reply. lol.
I know there are a few waivers given for color blindness but my son evidently didn't get one.
Plan A: Son was conditionally accepted to USCGA but failed color blind test. :o(
Plan B: Waiting on USNA and USAFA
Plan C: Army ROTC scholarship received and accepted to Univ. of Texas at Arlington
Very important for those juniors waiting to apply to the academies to always have backup plans.
He had his DodMERB exam in July of last year and except for mild color deficiency which disqualified him from the Coast Guard Academy he is in perfect health.
However I thought cadets and ROTC candidates were given another physical the summer before they start the program?
My son is playing baseball going into his senior year of high school. He pitches and catches.
He had a mild injury to his shoulder his sophomore year because his idiot coach over pitched him.
This year his idiot coach catches him and pitches him, sometimes in the same game.
If he had a...
