Same situation. Stationed overseas, and in the meantime packing for an imminent deployment. It is going to be a wild year regardless of what happens with USAFA, and I can't imagine the process if it works out in my favor. Best of luck to everyone!
Good point, forgot about spring break! I would think they will be making prep school appointments soon, as they have already begun awarding Falcon scholarships. Typically, prep school appointments follow soon after.
Still waiting! It Is my understanding that admissions hasn't begun reviewing airmen for USAFAPS Appointments yet. They hope to have the entire process completed by April 15th, per a USAFA counselor.
Makes sense! I hope we all know what the outcomes are by that time - Direct or Prep. At this point, I think we all just want to hear a "Yes" or "No". [emoji1]
I'm applying through the LEAD program as well. I called my counselor to check on something and he mentioned they will be looking at enlisted applicants soon. However, if you are competitive for direct entry, you will most likely be looked at with everyone else.
If USAFA doesn't work out, DET 157 at ERAU is an amazing place. I spent nearly 2 years with the detachment before enlisting due to non-AFROTC related circumstances. Outstanding cadre, and an amazing training regiment. I hope to return to the program after I complete my enlistment contract.
I know some other enlisted airmen who have heard back from the admissions department, but like Winston said, there are still a ton of appointments to come out this month and later on. I am in the Aircraft Maintenance world as well, so I know exactly what you mean.
When admissions reviews your package, the application status switches to "Under Review" or something similar, right? Another airman in my squadron had his status change recently.
I'm not sure of the exact timeframe, but based off the last two years, appointments have dropped in March. I know some LEAD applicants have already got a response.
