    Strike "2"

We have come to the end for the second time around. Our hearts are heavy for our son, but he has a great backup plan this time. And even though he has two options for school next year, he has already started the process over for the third time. He doesn't want regrets in 20 years wondering...

Has anyones status gone back to "in process?"

I spoke with Larry Mullen last night. I had sent him an email regarding the dodmerb page. The page he views is different then the one we see, but he did tell us my son's status is still showing "In Process" on his page. I copied and pasted the page we see to show him the admission status...

Has anyone gotten a NROTC scholarship lately?

Kelly, My son is in the same situation. His recruiter told him that he probably wouldn't receive a scholarship because he was white. My son informed him that he is also American Indian and Pacific Islander. The recruiter said that might help, but don't be surprised if you don't receive a...

    what would admission status...

I want to say "Thanks" to all of you for your kind words, and humor. What will be, will be! Like my son says, "the mission is the commission". He will be a USMC Officer someday, hopefully through the USNA, but if not, that's OK too! One thing I refuse to do is go back and read "April...

    what would admission status...

I don't think you can read into the Dodmerb status 100%. If you look at previous years and compare them to this year, it isn't consistent. I think the only reason why my son's status for MMA was and still is showing "offer extended" so early, is due to the swim coach trying to recruit him...

    Usna thin white envelope

Thin White Envelope. It's a denial letter.

    what would admission status...

On my son's page last year, the only thing that changed was the color of writing. Under Agency it went from green to red. The funny thing is, it stayed that way when he started new this year (on Dodmerb). It's red for both USMMA and USNA, and USMMA shows "Offer Extended" and he didn't finish...

    Congrats usna appointees!!!

I wanted to say Congratulations to everyone who has been awarded this great honor. You have worked very hard to achieve this Appointment. Cherish these next few months with family and friends. When I-Day finally arrives and those challenging weeks are upon you, and you want to quit, dig very...

    What more should I do?

Jennyp - Yes my son did reapply this year, and the waiting is just as difficult this time. He is in college, not the one he should have been in, but this is what happens when you don't have a backup plan. He put all his eggs in one basket, didn't listen to the two most intelligent people in his...

    Kay Bailey Hutchinson

My son received his letter yesterday. It said her review board selected his application, but because he received a nomination from Rep. Lloyd Doggett, she went with another candidate. I love the system here in Texas. I know there are some kiddos that would love to have multiple...

    What more should I do?

I agree with jennyp. At this time last year we were a ball of nerves, and there is nothing you can do, but wait. If you have any thing to add to your application, then by all means add it. My son's first application was reviewed on 10/23/09, after that he did not receive any information...

Any letters received for Marine Option?

It is the 26th of this month. Hang in there and good luck!

    NROTC - Marine Option

The board meets on February 26th. My son's status page originally was showing items missing, and a week later it was blank. Good Luck!

Nomination Letters - TX Dist. 25

Thanks for the reply, and you can never have enough information. If my son received an actual letter, or certificate he would be greatly appreciative. Probably not more then me. You know, that whole proud parent thing. He wasn't able to obtain a nomination last year, so when he received a...

Nomination Letters - TX Dist. 25

From what I've read, not all MOC's send letters stating your nomination. My son received his phone call on Dec. 24th, informing him of his nomination, but has not received a letter. It would have been nice to have one for a scrap book (from a mom's point of view). Just wanted to make sure...
