    Helicopter Pilot

Wonderful. Thank you both so much! I have one more question. What is the best place to get study material for the ASTB?

    Helicopter Pilot

I'm currently a 2dig at USAFA and am seriously considering trying to cross commission to the Navy to fly. Yet, with my little Navy experience I have a few questions. 1. What are the focus missions for navy helo pilots, obviously this depends on air frame, but broad view? 2. What's the...

Cross Commission - AF to Navy

This is great. My AOC just asked the SAME questions. So, it looks like we're on the right path. Regarding slots, I've been told by some naval aviators that the Navy will tell you what you can't do, rather then what you can do. So, drops seem less stressful. The navy has more Helo spots, behind...

Cross Commission - AF to Navy

This question is for anyone with experience regarding the exchange. I'm currently a 2dig at USAFA and would like to swap to the Navy to have a better chance at flying choppers. I love the AF and would be perfectly content staying, but I'd just like to research my options. 1. What are the...

    Buying boots

I believe I got the generic Dr. Scholls and they worked out fine. It's really just based on preference.

    Buying boots

I'm not sure for other basic squadrons, but Flying Tigers will not allow basics to wear purchased boots. With that being said, I'd highly suggest buying insoles. Life savers for me. I am athletic and those boots are heavy and hurt.

    Sad news

I apologize. I guess we're all just a little hypersensitive about it here.

    Sad news

As this is still very close to the academy, and even we have told to keep this hush hush. I'm asking that the moderators take this down. Please.

    God, do they look dead...

The AD brief is for all basics. It's where you go whether you're a recruit, preferred walk-on, or just interested to find out what to do and who the coach is. In my case wrestling practice took place of intramurals after that brief for basic.

    Stuff to bring on I-Day

Sorry falcongirl couldn't agree less. Run the risk and bring compression shorts. I'd say it's crucial and any male cadre is not going to take them. They know your pain. I'd pack baby powder for chaffing as well. It's gon a be rough, an it's hotter than last summer.
