You don't need a nomination for NAPS or foundation. And you also are eligible for discretionary noms (although those are rare). Thanks for stopping by with your positive input.
I don't disagree, my only complaint is that my DS (who didn't have a nomination) should have been turned down earlier. It was an unnecessary 75 day wait when he didn't have a chance. I know people on here will comment about how he was in the running for something blah, blah but frankly I don't...
To be honest, I don't know if stats really matter. I have seen candidates with out of this world credentials and multiple noms get canned, and I have seen candidates on the opposite side of the spectrum get direct entry, NAPS or foundation. The local kid that received his appointment was quite...
Got the answer to my question. Turn down email just came. Obviously, I am biased but not getting at least a prep offer is criminal. All good though, looks like we will be sticking to the enlisted ranks. Semper Fi to all!
Unfortunately, DS went from pending without a nomination to turned down. Looks like he will be enlisting in the Marine Corps with an eye towards Raider assessment and selection. Looks like our family is just meant to be enlisted :p. The best of luck to everyone in their journeys, I wish you...
Did you happen to see what occurred last week? And for that matter, you can't get at least an email saying thanks for applying, but we can't offer you a spot for the Class of 2028?
But I would think you get an email, correct? With all of the issues with the portal, I would think you would get some sort of formal notification from Annapolis, or am I thinking too logically?
I would have thought for sure there would be some live action today, especially after lunchtime. Just a random observation, but it really looks like things slowed down big time after the snafu with rejection emails/portal updates only to then be retracted.
Yeah, really not thinking about unicorns. Of course it would be nice, but DS would be absolutely thrilled with NAPS or foundation. He has definitely bought into the "golden ticket" mantra.
So in your opinion (from past experience) a candidate that is pending without a nomination, and is most likely looking at NAPS or foundation (if anything at all, I realize a TWE is in play as well) may very well not hear anything today?
