Echo the above. Don't plan a busy weekend. Plan on going to the mandatory USAFA things on Friday and the ball game on Saturday, and then relax... be prepared to just step out of the room for a while. Our cadet consumed a massive amount of food, and slept. Ate some more, then.... back to sleep...

Notlob, Wish I had something better to offer other than your AOC. I thought I had seen similar issues here from past years, but can't seem to find it at the moment. So, I'd say don't be afraid of talking to your AOC openly about your desire to stay.

Our DS goes to Air Force Academy, and other than a few hundred that we gave him when we dropped him off, we haven't had to spend anything really other than bringing him home on breaks. They will make sure he has everything he absolutely needs.

Our DS goes to AFA, some weekends, there's not time for a phone call. He may answer, but it's to make sure we're not calling for an emergency or something, and let's us know pretty quick, homework is waiting. Other weekends, plenty of time and headed out exploring. Kinda cuts down on surprise...

We never met our congressman, and he's in a different party than I am.... DS made the appointments and did the interview with a board of volunteers. He's now an 18'er at USAFA.
