Been reading this thread. Great to see all of you interested in prep schools. Though my screen name may not suggest it, I'm actually a sponsored USAFA prep at NMMI. This school is everything you need in a prep school, in my opinon. Academics kick my butt, the Prep PT program is tough but doable...
As far as I know, each prep school has it's own requirements. Generally speaking though, even if you are QNV'd for an Academy, you will probably be good enough to attend a prep school...no promises though!
Chosen for a prep school- for the actual Academy prep school, not many are chosen. I...
You should have gotten that list they sent out. Some civilian clothes, mainly for sleeping in. And I think we are allowed one change of civilian clothes for when we go home on leave.
Can't wait! One week away!
I had my track coach administer mine(ironically enough, he was also a USAFA grad). To my understanding, Zoo's not super particular as long as it's someone who can be trusted not to lie about your scores and preferrably knows something about either physical training or the military or both!
Well, this is disheartening news!(I need to change my screen name, I'm a Falcon Foundation scholarship kid)
Thanks for the break down though, really appreciate it.
Though my screen name may not suggest it, I'm reporting in. Reapplicant, will be attending NMMI with the Falcon Foundation Scholarship! Let's go c/o 2016!
After a long app process and being a bit of a nerd about this stuff, here's what I think I've learned.
I was 3 Q'd with a nom to both USNA and USAFA. However, I was not 'competitive'. Because I was triple Q'd with a nom, that seemed to eliminate me from the specific academy prep schools(like...
Hi! I got a Prep Scholarship to NMMI from USAFA and will be attending there this fall.
I got a phone call from them about 5 days after learning of my scholarship, confirmed my desire to attend there and had my packet in about 3 business days. Since then(about 3 weeks) I've received tons of...
Wow!
Ok, first off, I want to thank all of you for all the awesome insight you have put in. I've spent the last 30 min or so going through this thread and it's given me some great food for thought! After learning of my FF offer, I've been in contact with NMMI and am as we speak filling out...
Although my screen name begs to differ, I've been given the Falcon Foundation scholarship by USAFA and will be attending the New Mexico Military Institute. Anyone else get this? This is a good thing, right? Came totally out of the blue for me!
Sorry to be so long responding. I live in CA-01. Still haven't heard from USAFA but at this point planning to go to Sonoma State for a year and then reapply.
any news for you?
