may interest some of you to hear that my brother is a rising 2/c and currently a plebe summer detailer. I really wanted to be a plebe this summer, unfortunately didn't make the cut but still really interest talking to my brother and hearing his perspective.

Just an old slang for academy graduates I guess. The stereotype is that they knock their rings on tables, sort of to make it known/brag that they went to navy.

Haven't been on here in about 3 weeks since I was turned down. I just checked my grades from my second semester of college for the first time today over a month since they were completed (I was nervous). good news is, I did a lot better than I expected. currently sitting at a 3.33 cumulative gpa...

As the first in my family to go to a regular big university (dad went to USNA, mom never went to college), I can say that college is awesome. I really didn't have much guidance or anything to go off of at first but I have found it to be a really enjoyable experience thus far, and the best is yet...

Sorry to hear about your son, I was rooting for him. NROTC is a great option, so is reapplying. On the bright side, much better skiing in CO than MD! Good luck to him!!!!

Where did you hear this? My understanding is that they do start sending TWEs during the waitlist process, I could be wrong but it doesn't make sense to keep dozens of people on a waitlist for MAYBE a few spots.

Purely speculative I know, BUT..... Last year when this forum saw people start to come off the waitlist, it started on May 10th, Tuesday of the second week of May. So who knows, tomorrow could be our day...

In my experience, ROTC staff will support you in your goals to attend an SA, and at worst they will be indifferent. They will probably appreciate your drive to serve either way and if you leave their unit for some other route, it doesn't affect them personally.
