    My WP Experience

"Then the lunch comes. I'm extremely lucky to have a mom that is a great cook. I know it has spoiled me into thinking that her meals should be what the average meal is, but I have had cafeteria food and I know that when cooking for the masses, the meal isn't going to be up-to-par with my normal...

    Overnight visits

My DD has participated in the 1/2 day (junior year) and the overnight (college freshman) and each time she learned something new about USMA. The interaction with Plebes, hearing them share their views of the first year, BCT etc. and participating in a "day in a life" was invaluable to her. Keep...

    Did I blow it?

No, the deadline is January 31, so you still have time. I assume you have a competitive nomination vs. principle? Take it ASAP. If you have not already reviewed the max and mean values for the CFA do so before taking it. There is no rule on how many times you can take it with out submitting...

    ...What now?

Here are a couple of suggestions: A. If you do not have one already, create a resume. You are going need it, for your application and Plan B. B. Start developing your plan B options - If you are committed to serving, begin to research ROTC, visit a college campus that has an ROTC program and...

    College Applicants

DD submitted her transcripts on Jan. 2, and the portal shows they have been received. Our Congressman just conducted nomination interviews last Saturday, and they have not notified the candidates of the final selection. She was 3Q with a nom last year, and received a LOE on Sept 5.

    Taking the SAT/ACT Multiple Times...

The only way a school will know how many times you took the SAT/ACT is if you submit the scores. My DD took the ACT 10 times, was accepted to 2 top 10 business schools. She was QNS last year, reapplied this year and has an LOE. If you are concerned about the perception of multiple test attempts...

    SAT worries

If you can afford one and have not done so already, find a tutor who specializes in a either the ACT/SAT. My DD daughter took her first ACT as a sophomore and scored a 15 in reading, worked with a tutor with a final score of 30. The USNA admissions should have a profile for the Class of 2017 it...
