Spend the Night with the Corps - Texas A&M

My DS did it back in 2020. It was a great opportunity to see the campus, meet with ROTC staff and current cadets - and get a basic idea about the program. I would highly recommend it if you are seriously considering TAMU.
 
Our son did this also, same year. He thought it was great. They really have a fantastic program. After the prospective cadets are released, we went over to the Enigineering Building (fantastic!) and our son met with the various engineering schools he was interested in. Chemical, Materials, Aeronautical. It gave him a lot of clarity. I strongly recommend that you do it. TAMU was his Plan B, but he got an appointment to USAFA. It's on his list of Grad Schools if he's lucky enough to get that opportunity.
 
My ds is planning to do it this spring. At every event he's been to, they stress that spending the night with the Corps is a must-do.

DD did it in November 2023 and found it very helpful! In her case, she has a sibling already at TAMU and was very familiar with the university in general but the Corps is all new to her/us. In addition, the Corps has several zoom sessions available this month on different outfits, being an out of state cadet, etc. You might want to check those out. When you spend the night with the Corps you can choose from several different units and stay in that dorm, etc. DD will be joining AROTC Fighten' Texas Aggie class of 2028! One thing she is trying to find out is if certain units have more engineering majors which is what she'll be majoring in. Anyone have any inside scoop on that for Army units?
 
I did it in November 2023 and I am officially class of 2028 with an AFROTC scholarship and it helped me decide what outfit I wanted to join . I would recommend plus it's a lot of fun to get to see what those guys do up there.

So for army I believe that B-1 and A-2 are the main pre-professional outfits over there but I'm not entirely sure, I'm an Air Force guy, what I'd recommend doing is contacting the Commandant's recruiting staff and/or get in contact with the outfits though social media since every outfit has that easily accessible and monitor their account for recruiting purposes.

Thank you. She's headed back to TAMU this weekend for another Corps event and will ask around.
