Whoops, meant to type “Just make sure to follow your school’s code of conduct”.How would this violate a school's code of conduct?

Good point. Especially as regards the high standards portion. I'd recommend having your mom make the poster, cause if I were you, I know it would look better that way. I'm not super artistic. On the other hand, if you are, do it yourself. I love good art, especially stuff by Salvador Dalí, a man who helped to popularize the Surrealist movement.Sometimes the question isn’t are you allowed/not allowed to do it, but should/shouldn’t you do it. It’s that time you start weighing the pros and cons yourself, how others might perceive you as now connected to the Naval Academy, a grown adult, someone expected to live by high standards/ethics/morals, etc. Your calculus moving forward shouldn’t be what does/doesn’t get you in trouble, but what is the right thing to do, what makes rational sense to do, or what is acceptable.
As a side note…you can’t control what other people record and post to their social media.
Honestly, I know some appointees that are pulling similar shenanigans at my school this year. It sounds completely harmless, and maybe you might get a little lucky! I think you should do it Nothing ventured, nothing gainedI am a current high school senior and have an appointment. My high school prom is in a little over a month. My school is hosting a track invite this weekend and a good amount of schools will be in attendance. I used to run track and ran at this invite for the past 3 years so I am familiar with the schools that usually attend, my school's coaches, and the members of the team. Long story short I'm down tremendously lol and am thinking of going for a hail mary.
I am thinking of going to track invite with a "Prom?" sign (or something of the sort) and just simply stand around and see if anyone is interested lol. What I was wondering is would this get me in trouble with my school or the academy? The last thing I want is to get in any trouble and my appointment rescinded when my intentions are pure and harmless.
Thanks in advance.
Dude, you are 83 days and a wakeup from being a Midshipman at the United States Naval Academy. Hate to be obtuse about your current situation, but who gives a **** about prom? Take it from the old man, prom sucks now, it sucked 30 years ago, and it will suck when you are my age. You will be surprised years from now how inconsequential high school (and high school activities like prom) and the people you knew then really were. You will have your share of social experiences at Annapolis, but let's be honest, you selected a Service Academy because the social aspect is not really that important. So when you buddies are at a civilian university simping at the umpteenth social/dance/mixer of the year and you are flying in the backseat of a fighter jet, or onboard an aircraft carrier, you can reflect on who is really having the most fun and enjoyment.Coach shot down the idea
I guess I kinda saw it coming, looks like my prom night will be another lonesome night in my room listening to Creed
Listening to Nickelback instead will turn that frown upside downCoach shot down the idea

Bro ask a girl you personally know. You're going to USNA, and while it's not as cool as West Point, you're obviously a baller to have gotten in. Shoot your shot homie, there's nothing to lose. Best case, you bag a hottie. Worst case, you're without a prom date and she says no. If you don't, you already are in the worst case scenario of asking a girl. So, ask her bro, it doesn't even matter if you like her that much; it's just fun to have someone to go with.Coach shot down the idea
