Who is still pending?

What did your son end up doing for Plan B and how is he doing?
He ended up with a full Air Force ROTC scholarship and is at Embry Riddle University in FL. He is doing fine & enjoys ROTC. It was very hard for him to pick his plan B & only decided in the middle of May. So much effort goes into getting into the Academies, it was hard to think of something else.

He will do great things!

Seems odd that so many are still pending at the same time WL notices are going out. Anyone with gouge on the rationale?

Humble speculation as a current applicant:

It seems like a reasonable way to run the waitlist would be:
1) tally up the number of appointments that were not accepted / likely to be rejected due to issues with medical, etc
2) place 1 or 2 qualified alternates per spot on the WL

If all nomination slates were sorted through already, it seems like everyone would have heard a yes/no/WL for the academy and NAPS. It looks like they are still sorting through and trying to put together all the puzzle pieces.
