Who is still pending?

DS #1 received TD on Apr 28 in 2021 (a mass purge day). Feeling your pain as it looks like it could be Apr 26 for some folks…. He was ok - had his Plan A.2 queued up & ready to go. He was getting excited about it. Saw the TD, said: “Welp, guess it wasn’t meant to be” & closed that chapter. Never looked back. Arrived on campus as a CP, had full scholarship by the following summer (they didn’t have the CO midyear scholarships back then).

Last summer for NROTC summer training, he went to mainland Japan, Okinawa & Brisbane - took selfies w/ kangaroos 🦘(first orders were to Pearl Harbor but a typhoon got in the way). This summer he’s scheduled to go to Japan again. He’s doing fine 😊.

Fingers crossed for you all!

If a TD is the decision, we feel your pain & know it will sting. But …. You didn’t come this far to spend too much time in that space. Exciting things await - go own them!

NROTC is such a great option. It's really like a Plan A-2.
 
I'm sorry you all are still having to wait. This process is a hurry up and wait, and when you get to the finish line, they make you wait more. Hoping for good news for you all.

This! I know it’s really semantics but I disliked calling it “Plan B” - like it was somehow inferior. Based on his experience & what was best for him, it was Plan A.2. You all are amazing 🤩 - and have been thru so much just getting to this point. I know it’s hard but one decision doesn’t define a young adult. Grieve, be upset, consider re-applying (I think his unit it 2/2 for re-applicants since he’s been there), but get back up on that horse - with confidence! - and own your future. Some amazing friendships & experiences await!
