We went up and watched 2014 march to lunch today. They did a good job for only being on their 4th day! They were doing lots of Flight marching before that..... nice day!!!

Sooooo... you have an empty guestroom now, right? :shake:

Seriously, love these little updates, especially on days like today where there's not a lot of info/pics coming our way. :thumb:

Will plan to take some "lunch" breaks this week to watch them, again. It is nice (I know -- you guys don't want to hear it) to be so close!

Lots of Basics were at the chapel today.

It has been very temperate which is good for all the flatlander kids to adjust to the altitude.

I'll keep watching!!

I agree, thanks for checking on our kids. So wish we were closer. Love the pics from webguy!!! What a great thing to have!!

RPT1981- Please keep taking the "WEB"Guy out to lunch for all of us. What a great program he does for all of us. Also, I am glad you are able to watch and look forward to "see" what you are "seeing" through your words.

Watched the Noon Meal formation again yesterday. I missed my son (looking through the binoculars -- they go by quickly), but saw a HS classmate of his and a cadet we are sponsoring. All are alive and well. Probably a bit tired, but slowly settling into a routine.
As my son wrote, "I hate the mornings -- I can't tell if it is night or day until the yelling starts". "I love the evenings -- sleep and another day done". [Of course, he was never a morning person, so 4:30 must be tough]
I'll go watch again on Friday. My wife will be up there today. It is so fun to see them march and listen to their yells!

I envy you!!!!!

It is fun!! We'll go watch Field Day on 10 July in the morning and the march to Jack's on 11 July.

My husband will be out in the Denver area during that time, so he can go to the Academy to watch them march out to Jack's on the 11th? How does he know where to go and what time? Thanks.

I sent you a PM.

They begin at 6:45am....best site is at the B-52 near the North Gate entrance (per CO Parents Club)

Thanks so much. He is thrilled to be able to get away from his meetings and see the DS. Hopefully he will be able to recognize him from all the other thousand doolies out there, LOL

Field day is alot of fun - the cadets have smiles on their faces and seem more relaxed. Also, with all those colored shirts you have seen on webguy, it is quite spectatular when they line up to march in/out!

Field Day

I remember it well....excellent "break"; fun; AND they have DDI after it is over!!
Wife went again today and saw another local Mom (from our son's HS) there watching.

Early lunch

They marched earlier today to the Noon Meal formation....? Will have to sneek up this weekend to watch. It looks like they are getting an extra hour of sleep, so I think that and a more "normal" routine in this second week has them loking a lot better (more rested) than last week. ...and the "shock" is worn off...
