Accepted!-SLS

Thanks guys! Not to sound presumptuous, but my best advice if you need to boost your PSAT/SAT is to NOT invest in those Karen Dillard's courses, just buy the official prep book (yes, the big blue one) and keep working practice problems. It works wonders.

But best of luck to all y'all! Hooah! :thumb:

Oh, and do any of y'all remember what "workshops" you signed up for when you applied?

Need some advice. I still haven't received my PSAT scores. It may be another 2 weeks. Should I apply to SLS with my current SAT scores of 670 Math, 580s for both Reading and Writing? I think my PSAT scores for both Reading and Writing will be better. I see all of you applying and receiving responses and start to wonder if timing is a big concern.
Congratulations to all who have been accepted into SLS.

Applying early is always better, but as you only get one chance and they've been turning applications around pretty quickly this year, I would wait for the better scores. FWIW, I applied 2 days before the deadline last year and got in, so don't worry about an extra week or two this early in the application process.

i believe i had the history, mock trial, and leadership workshops at the top of my list... anything humanities related i chose first.

Dd got the acceptance today. She used ACT scores but the best part of her app was probably her athletics.

Accepted!

Today I got my acceptance to SLS in the mail!

Just to answer a few previous questions asked:

- I'm a proud constituent of California's 50th District
- My preference is Session II
- My top-choice workshops were Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Leadership, and then Systems Engineering.
- In case it helps: I'm in the top 1% of my class (4 of 424) and my PSAT was 72 math, 63 reading, 67 writing, varsity wrestling, and Boy Scout Senior Patrol Leader

Sounds like it's going to be a great week! Go Army!

I got accepted too! but I'm a little confused as to when the sessions are and what workshops I'm in. Also, do they hold my spot until I send back a confirmation letter?

So you know how SLS is a two-part application right? The first part was filling out the candidate questionnaire and what not. The second part involved choosing your preferred workshops.

Now, you obviously completed part two because you got accepted to SLS. As for me, they sent me an email with my preferred workshops. So just do a little inbox rummaging and I'm sure you'll find it!

Received acceptance letter yesterday and not sure about which session most likely the second one though. I'm from GA. I applaud West Point's rapid processing of things received acceptance letter only 3 days after submitting application (compared to USAFA SS app which i submitted 4 weeks ago and still have heard nothing) :shake:

My acceptance letter arrived in the mail yesterday as well. An awesome late Christmas present!

I'll be attending Session I (May 28-June 3). My top three workshop selections were: 1. History 2. Leadership and Ethics 3. Behavioral Sciences and Leadership. Also, I'm from Northeastern Montana.

Ready to start the list?

oh, I'm from CT
not sure which session yet
and congratulations to everyone else who got their letter!

My PSAT scores were low for my standards, by the way, with a 68/62/58. However I do have a strong class rank (top 2%) and some extracurriculars, and along with submitting my application early, I guess I got a lucky break.

Hoping for the second session too if you want to update the list.

Congratulations to all that made it so far and good luck to those still waiting.

I got my acceptance letter today! I'm from MN, and most likely will attend session 2. Good luck to all still awaiting letters.

Some ques about SLS app:
For ACT/SAT scores, can you superscore(take the highest from two separate test dates)?

For ACT English, do they want the score without the writing and they want the writing score to be the one scored 2-12?

Hm, does anyone know if it is possible to be rejected from SLS and then get accepted later? I just found out that my school hasn't updated my class rank since the beginning of the year and that my rank should be much higher.

I think I'm just being a little bit too optimistic though.
