Official USAFA Class of 2017 Appointment thread

I haven't yet. I got the call on Wednesday so hopefully sometime next week a BFE or portal change.
 
New Poster - general observation

New poster here - long time viewer (stalker) - My DS is a USAFA candidate - spoke to our Congressman's office today to ask how the candidates are notified by their office - this is a GA Congressman, but may be valid for other MOC offices in other states. They do not list any candidate as a "Primary" - all nominees are listed as "Competitive Candidates". Their office is notified by the Academies via email, the Congressman's office does not call, send emails or letters to the appointees - they wait for the Academy to notify the candidates. So for us this means - wait for a letter or portal change from the USAFA. So no relief here. Congratulations to all the current appointees hope our DS receives notification soon.:bang:

First post as well and a viewer for more than a year - My DS is a USAFA candidate 2017 from Pa.

His portal was last updated on Feb 28th, I this the same date that everyone else is seeing?

PES2017, Where are you pulling that date from? On my son's portal, there are various dates. I'm just trying to make sure I understand your question.
 
At the botom of the page,

USAFA Online Application v2.31j, released 28 Feb 2013
Today's date is 3/15/2013 (US Mountain Time)

That is the date of the software upgrade not your individual application update.
 
I noticed the release date change several time a week in February but not since Feb 28th. I just though that it changed when they updated new information.

Since those are both the date I opened my application, and I have certainly updated (and finished) my application since then, I have learned to ignore the dates. Hopefully that isn't just my portal.

I too am a long time stalker....lol USAMomHopeful what district are you in? My DS is also waiting to hear....but last year our Congressman District 8 did call the candidates that received appointments. I guess each Congressman can decide if they want to reach out. Good luck to you & your DS.....I am crossing my fingers & toes.....maybe will hear something within the next few weeks:yikes:

Other than an email he received on 7/1/2012 we have not seen any new info. I think everything is ok, it is just a long wait.

I was called yesterday. No portal change and no BFE yet. My congressman told me yesterday that I would receive some mail on Monday. (Not sure if he meant it was being mailed Monday or would be received then)

I am in the same boat. I'm pretty sure they give the MOCs time to call and tell the appointee so they will be surprised on the phone. Don't worry.

Thank you soo much to this site, it's been far more valuable than gold! Praying that the hopefuls on this site get their BFEs soon!
 
My USAFA counselor said the portal hasn't been updated for a while. From the office and the congressman himself, I heard that the letters will be sent out March 18th, which is a Monday. I'm guessing many of the appointees will receive a mail by end of next week. Good luck to everyone!
