Anyone have NROTC Marine Corps results back yet?

Kemp1: just curious, when did you submit your package? we submitted ours in mid-November, by Nov. 15.

I tried that number again and I was told I got a 4 year NROTC MC scholarship and that it would be for one of my top two schools, VMI or Fordham

thanx Maximus for the number

i'd recommend vmi, but then again i'm biased

everything went in by the last week of october. I didnt receive a letter yet, but i called the 703 number and they told me I'd be receiving a letter soon.

Yeah its a tough call but idk if i get the choose what college they give the nrotc for, either way im happy

Congratss man!! I'm going to try that number tomorrow also i dont know if they'll be open because of Christmas Eve but we shall see...I was told by Christmas i'd know somehting but i dont think that's going to happen =]

hooah, if u get turned away from it (u mite get sum1 who wont help u) try calling a different day.

I called a week ago and the guy refused to tell me anything.

Today a woman picked up and she was insanely nice about it and told me all the info.

Either way you'll hear about it before Capt. W does and he made it sound like an official letter was coming soon.

Unfortunately I suspect there is yet another issue at play, the Captain directly told my son that, and I quote "the Marine Corps wants it's Officer Corps to look like it's enlistment and unfortunately you're a white male" un-quote. It's not the first time he/we heard that and I was standing next to him when he (Captain) said it, it was like someone kicked me in the stomach!

i've never noticed anything like that among marine-option nrotc scholarship cadets at vmi! i'm surprised that captain said that. that sucks.

I was very surprised and thank goodness it was only my son and I in the room when he said it. The first time we heard it was at a North Florida University and the NROTC LT told him in front of his friends, ironically three minority kids that are his best friends. They all kind of looked at the ground and pretended they didn't hear what the LT said. Later they all said it was a terrible thing to say and I had to stand there silently. I still to this day, haven't talked about it and don't really know how to explain it.

My son received call from Marine Capt Christmas eve with the good news. Said letter would follow shortly.

Anybody in Texas Get Results?

I turned in all my information early and I still have not received word on if I received my NROTC Scholarship. My interview went pretty well though, I must say. He said due to the fact that I am female, my chance was pretty high. I'm already accepted to the college I want to go to so now I'm just waiting. It's pretty nerve racking. So anyone in Texas get results, yet? My local recruiter here keeps telling me "Next week. Next week." He has said that since the last week in November! I'm getting pretty nervous!

Just checked online and found out I was selected for the scholarship at my first choice: Embry Riddle!! WHOO

Got it!

I checked the status of the NROTC page and I still havent heard anything from the Captain, but it says I got it! (pending the medical and getting accepted stuff of course) Im gonna go that this is official info despite not hearing from the Captain?

Son notified he earned the scholarship yesterday via the status page!

4-year scholarship to his first choice school.

We are in the greater Chicago area (no idea what District that is)

What a great Christmas present!

Best wishes to the rest of you - hang in there.

DS just checked his status page and was notified he was awarded a 4-year NROTC scholarship to his #1 school. He was also awarded an AROTC scholarship to the same school, which he selected on his paperwork last week. Now, he needs to get his acceptance to said school and then make the decision on which branch of service. We are blessed that he has these options! Check your NROTC status page! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Best Christmas err

I just checked my status and I've been awarded a 4 year Marine Option scholarship to Villanova university! For anyone perusing this forum in the future, my creds are as follows.

gpa: 3.67 unweighted
SAT: 630 math, 670 reading, 770 writing(im not sure if they even look at it)
PFT: 167
Varsity baseball and cross country(team captain)
Civil Air Patrol--Mitchell award
a bunch of other less important stuff...

Honestly, from things i've been reading, i really didn't expect to get this. So for anyone giving up hope, don't!!! Good luck to everyone and Merry Christmas!
